Louise Barnett

Louise Barnett is the author of Tainted Love: A Bipolar Memoir, a Jay Shetty–certified life coach, and host of the Unmasking Sobriety & Mental Health podcast. Through her writing and voice, she explores the gray areas of bipolar disorder, addiction, love, and identity with unflinching honesty.

Diagnosed with Bipolar I after years of misdiagnosis and self-destruction, Louise found sobriety in 2021, a turning point that reshaped her life and creative purpose. Her memoir, spanning fifteen years and four defining relationships, examines the complexity of mental illness, the search for stability, and the possibility of healing without perfection.

In addition to her writing, Louise coaches others in sharing their stories and hosts conversations that challenge stigma and silence around mental health and sobriety. Her work resonates with readers and listeners who have lived in the space between outward success and internal struggle.

She lives in Colorado with her family, where she continues to write, speak, and advocate for honest conversations about mental illness, recovery, and self-acceptance.
