About the Author
Nicoleta Dragan
Nicoleta Dragan is an author, licensed psychotherapist, and mental health educator with more than a decade of clinical and teaching experience. She serves as a mental health program specialist for a large Southern California school district and teaches psychology at a local community college. She also leads workshops and speaks on self-regulation, self-compassion, and emotional well-being.
Her work draws on the science of attachment, shame, self-compassion, and neuroscience, as well as her own lived experience and the experiences of those she has supported. She has also conducted and published research examining the connections among early experiences, shame, emotional regulation, and self-compassion.
Having witnessed the profound changes that can begin when people learn to regulate their emotions, Dragan believes self-regulation is not a cure for life’s problems, but a practical skill that can help us respond more intentionally and create greater balance in our lives.
